Bottle. Dark brown muddy pour. Aroma of chocolate, oat, licorice, mocha coffee and caramel. Taste has soft licorice, mocha, chocolate, soft roasted malt and a bitter hoppy finish. Solid example of the style, not much more.

Tap at Dewildeman, Amsterdam, served with the complementary dark chocolate, 28th September 17. Pours black; aroma is liquorice, malt, ash, vineous. Taste is smooth, liquorice, dark chocolate; the oats make the desired mouth feel. Nice gear.

650mL bottle, pours black with a large light brown head. Aroma brings out oats, roasted malt, and a touch of coffee. Flavour is robust, with lots of oats, medium roast, light hops, and dry coffee. Very oaty and hearty. Lovely stuff.

33cl Bottle from Vonk. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, oat, light veggies, alcohol, coffee, milk. Flavour is quite sweet, coffee, milk chocolate, roasted malts, bittersweet finish. Medium bodied. Decent RIS, but lacks a bit of depth imho.

Bottle that I picked up at Dorst Craft Beer shop, Den Haag, shared at Moncada Tap Room, Ladbroke Grove, West London, Friday 7th October 2016 Black on the pour, mmhhh... this is thinner than I would have liked. I christened this a disco stout, it’s clearly a big beer but it’s a tad, spritzy and lively. There is chocolate here and it’s nice, it’s smooth but it lacks depth. It’s good but too spritzy and lacking in areas. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
