Crunkle Sam wears what he wants, does what he wants, and you can bet he drinks what he wants too. When he wants to take a Kōlsch and adjust it to his liking, his liking is exactly what you’re going to get. This beer is NOT REINHEITSGEBOT. But it is delicious. Mangō begins as a crisp and clean traditional Kōlsch, then receives a dry hop addition and natural mango flavor. The result is a beer that features a light and crisp body that pairs that with subtle mango flavor and a lingering sweetness at the finish.

Peach and mango nose, hints of new plastic. Clear golden, thin head. Dry malt in competition with what seems to be sweeter artificial mango flavoring. Finishes with paper. Light body, moderate carbonation. I was stoked for this and it fell well short of my expectation.

Bottle: Hazy, light yellow-gold with a tall white head. Mango, honey, grain aroma. Taste is slightly grassy, mango, grain malt...light, refreshing... Not sure about calling it a kolsch......fairly tasty, with a lager feel to the body.

Great integration. Pours golden with OK head. Some decent grain traces with mango. Light bittersweet finish. Pleasant ball around and very drinkable. Tap at Big Hunt.

650 ml bottle purchased at CBC Portsmouth location. Slightly hazy yellow with lasting head. Aroma is natural mango, mild grain.

Flavor is pleasant with no flaws. Texture is grainy with the mango found through the sip. Nice effervescent mouthfeel with a lasting mango finish. Enjoyable and simple.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 6/22/2015. Pours slightly hazy bright golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of mango, lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and mango/citrus peel fruit notes; with good strength. Taste of mango, lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of mango, lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and mango/orange peel fruit flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean flavors, with very well restrained yeast ester notes. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent fruited kolsch style. All around great robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and mango/orange peel fruit flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. I expected it to be more fruit forward initially, but it had just enough fruit flavor to still feel like a kolsch style overall. A very enjoyable offering.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma seems mango. Med body. Flavor is lots of mango, lots of fruit; I can even image a watermelon note. Kolsch? Really? Send this to Köln!

Pours gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Wheat and mango aromas. Sharp with sweet and sour mango front to back. Lasting mango pith finish which is a little off-putting.
