Crunkle Sam wears what he wants, does what he wants, and you can bet he drinks what he wants too. When he wants to take a Kōlsch and adjust it to his liking, his liking is exactly what you’re going to get. This beer is NOT REINHEITSGEBOT. But it is delicious. Mangō begins as a crisp and clean traditional Kōlsch, then receives a dry hop addition and natural mango flavor. The result is a beer that features a light and crisp body that pairs that with subtle mango flavor and a lingering sweetness at the finish.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy golden yellow pour with a thin white head, aroma has a hint of mango, taste has subtle mango, pale malts, crisp citrus, pleasant enough.

355ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy orange, small white head. Aroma is light breezy mango, pale malts. Taste is initial kolsch malt before a soothing, growing mango syrup presence. Very refreshing, lightly fruity kolsch.

Pours a straw from a bottle. Aroma is legit mango, like actual, fibrous, how do I peel this thing mango. Flavor does capture some of that with the clean crisp kölsh profile, but not as big as the aroma would have us believe. C’est la vie.

Crisp, nicely hazy golden coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of mangoes, light malt, coriander seed, fresh cut grass, a touch of metal and a minor alcohol note coming from the metal. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong mango and tropical fruit flavour with a good malt flavour right behind, but not strong nor pungent at all. Aftertaste has a very clean malt flavour, with a lot of fruit, some subdued grain and caster sugar flavours, but the mango shows very well. Overall, a nice kolsch that goes well with this cuisine and especially with the heat of Hawaii! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at Roy’s in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii on 28-December-2015 for US$15,00 (just for comparison, the ABC Store, literally next door had this for $11,00 for the same bottle, so $4 more while eating at a nice restaurant is well worth it to me!

Somewhere: pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is mango and bread and the like. Taste has mango, but not so much. It is probably hoppier than your average kolsch. Not bad.

22 ounce bottle. Pale golden color. Small bubbly white head with clinging lace. Big mango aroma. Tart sweet malty flavor has lot’s of mango upfront. Somewhat thin bodied. Nice spicy hops and sweet malt in finish. Love the tropical notes the mango brings. Nicely done.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow - Downtown, 9/18/15

Aroma: It has a fairly light aroma, some cereal / grains, mango, and other fruity notes
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a thin sheet of off-white head and mid-heavy lacing
Flavor: The taste is fruity and a little sweet, grainy malts come through as well, with a mild bitterness
Palate: The body is light, but not watery, with an average-to-lively carbonation, and a tingly finish
Overall Impression: I can get what they were going for here. A nice fruitiness works well with the grainy, almost spicy, flavor. I could have gone for more Mango, but I'm a fan of the fruit. I probably wouldn't have pegged this as a Kolsch, but if you want to call it that I'm good with it. I'm not one of those people who's super hung up on the proper definitions of the style or their seemingly unnecessary geographical restrictions. (For that matter I don't much care for it with Champagnes or other such things...call stuff what you want.)

Pour is a clear yellow with a large white head. Aroma is all mango even though it’s not a strong scent, at least you can tell it’s mango and not some generic citrus fruit. Flavor is dry lager at first then comes a decent mango. More of a mango flavor is left on the tongue after the swallow. I love mango’s so I’m probably giving this a higher score than I normally would for a fruit beer. Decent but would not need it again.

Draft. Hazy gold color, medium white head. More hops than mango in the aroma. Taste is very lightly fruity, balanced, subtle bitter finish.

Bottle. Mango and light malt aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet mango, malt, and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Nice body. Very pleasant - good mango flavor with minimal sweetness.
