Crunkle Sam wears what he wants, does what he wants, and you can bet he drinks what he wants too. When he wants to take a Kōlsch and adjust it to his liking, his liking is exactly what you’re going to get. This beer is NOT REINHEITSGEBOT. But it is delicious. Mangō begins as a crisp and clean traditional Kōlsch, then receives a dry hop addition and natural mango flavor. The result is a beer that features a light and crisp body that pairs that with subtle mango flavor and a lingering sweetness at the finish.

Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a hazy amber color with a medium sized foamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet with vague tropical fruits and a bit of sugar. The flavor was tropical fruits, dry and perfumey with some passionfruit. Long finish. Medium body. Meh.

On tap at Red Cow North Loop. Pours a clear gold with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a light mango note backed by grains and a bit of straw. Flavor has a nice mango note with light grains and straw underlying.

Draught @ Albion. Clear golden color with small off-white foamy head, faint mango aroma, high carbonation, malty taste with little mango flavor, thin body, abrupt finish. Nice beer for warm weather.

Bottle from AJs. Nose of mango, lemon, a touch creamy and lactic. GLowing golden-orange, cloudy, with a fine low head. Huge mango flavor, creamy malt, great balance. Not sweet. Enjoyable.

Bottle picked up from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury, consumed in the garden whilst making Limoncello and Lemon Curd Ice Cream, Bank Holiday Monday 29th August 2016 Dark gold in colour, looks great in the glass, Loz says it lacks carbonation and she’s also unfussed, I didn’t mind it at all. Soft and smooth and really easy drinking beer, some fruitiness but I think that the mango is quite subdued I have to say I can’t really pick it up much. Low bitterness, refreshing, pleasant beer. 12 Oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber with light head. Aromas of dull lemons, wheat, and salty dry fruit. Odd flavors of dried mangos, paper, wheat malts, and reedy grass. Plus salt.

28th July 2016: half a small bottle (12 oz/33cl?) at Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Clear golden pour, thin white head. I got the Mango’s unlike some rates in their reviews. I struggle with the subtle flavours and blandness of most Kolsch beers, so this was a pleasant change to actually smell and taste a Kolsch based beer.
