De crux is de top van de berg. De top van brouwkunst. De top van de hopplant. De crux in dit bier is de balans tussen dryhop en bitterhop. En daar bevindt zich meteen het hellend vlak dat brouwen is, maar Vals Plat weet zich hierop heel goed staande te houden.

From tap at Taphuys, Utrecht. Piney and malty aroma with grapefruit, orange, malt. Nicely bitter and mild sweetish. Body is medium. Nice bitter classic IPA.

Bottle at home, amber beer, small head. Aroma is malt, citrus, fruit, hops, light pine. Taste is the same, bitter, citrus, hops, light pine/resin, fruit, bitter dry aftertaste. Very nice

0.33 l bottle from 'Mr. Hop', best before January 2025. Slightly hazy, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, quite fruity, a bit resiny aroma of mango, orange, some passion fruit and traces of pine. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, rather fruity and slightly resiny taste of orange, mango, passion fruit, grapefruit and some pine, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty IPA, rather classic but very well-brewed. A brewery to look out for.
