Really nice chocolate front, perfectly fine milk chocolate. Back is an odd overly dry, slightly over roasted, half concerned it didn't survive the trip, half thinking bad batch. But still good upfront. Oddity.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is chocolate and oat forward with light roast. A bit of an anise, phenolic note. Some caramel notes with some light dark fruit notes. Pours black with a small, thick, mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and medium sized legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with lots of dark chocolate. Moderately strong bitterness. Medium roast notes with some astringency. Light alcohol notes. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Medium astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, it's an ok beer but it's far from amazing. Lots of dark chocolate but also too astringent. Decent mouthbody but not.the best.

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Thanks Chad! Pours a thick and viscous deep brown with a finger of beige head that lingers. Lots of milk chocolate and cacao nib with some light blueberry and caramel notes. Creamy and thick on the palate, rich and decadent. ABV hidden well with a smooth, coating cacao nib finish. Lovely. --- Beer merged from original tick of Thicc Nibs on 24 Mar 2018 at 17:49 - Score: 8

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark malt and alcohol. Med ++ body. Flavor is very toffee/treacle, quickly followed by lots of chocolate. Heat does not seem to be a problem. Not at all dry, and the chocolate and hop aren’t enough to squelch the malt, but this is an Impy Stout, so not an issue. Really very tasty. Bet it would be a treat with chocolate cake with chocolate icing and cherry filling.
