(500ml bottle shared @ Nische's tasting c/o me) Pours clear very dark brown with no head. Notes dominated by something like mulled wine vinegar, tart cherries, heavy leathery wood, some rather funky Brett blanket, light brown sugar sweetness and toast from the malt base, a little lactic bite, fortified wine oxidation, drying up substantially with the alcohol, woody tobacco, tannins and slight toast, lingering vinegar and wine notes with spicebox in the aftertaste. Medium body, slick, very low carbonation. Altogether too much vinegar and a bit too overbearing, there's a lot going on but some aspects blow others out. This is Cascade after all.
