Draft. A black beer with a pinkish head. The aroma has notes of berries, brett, wood, and malt. The flavor is sour with notes of cherries, brettanomyces, wood, alcohol, and bourbon, leading to a tart finish.

In bocca è acida media, tart, vinosa, visciole sotto spirito, intensa. Corpo pieno, carbonazione medio-leggera. Gran carattere.

Draught, taster. Sampled on the 15/03/2019 at Biercab (Barcelona, Spain). Dark brown, almost black, colour with a medium and frothy tan head. Aroma is big spiced bourbon, Porto wine and fresh cherries. Taste is intense cherry, dark malts and spiced red Porto. Rich spiced and sweet finish. Complex and vineous. Next one please!

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a beautiful, clear, dark burgundywith a small, off-white head. Nose is actually surprisingly mellow, some red wine tannins perhaps. It's all happening in the flavor it seems. Medium body, hefty dose of acetic acid, tart red berries, very funky, some oak but not really very distinct Bourbon. It's all a bit much to be honest, and closer to vinegar than beer. All those overly acetic Sours are a complete misunderstanding in my book. A beer I really would like to love an awful lot more than I actually do. 110319

375 c&c from Bruisin' Ales. Pours hazy purple tinted dark brown with a head that hardly existed. Aroma of very tart ale - cherries primarily, but some malt as well. Med + body. Rather slick in the mouth. Flavor is tart, has cherries, and there's wood - which seems rather aged and musty. Bourbon is detectable, but it's not clear/clean/dominant. Tart enough to give me a shudder at the start of a quaff. It's clearly flavor related to BFM ales, but oh so much more approachable. Very interesting and tasty ale. (Note: shudders go away as quaffs increase!)

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Very dark, near black. Aroma of dark cherries, with notes of Porto. Good body strength; dark malt notes, blending well into the moderate acidity, with strong red wine notes, fruit, and astringent final.
