Bottle at BBT 10/2021. I have a slightly worse sense of smell this time. Med-full body, med-high carbonation. Medium alcoholic warmth, slightly sharp, but not too much. Medium nutty, caramelly, coffeeish malt character, pretty dry, not too much sweetness (despite kinda full body perception). Med-light whisky. Drinks pretty easy considering the ABV, which stems from the fact that it is not very intense malt-wise, could use more intensity. This is further attenuated by the whisky, which kinda dries it out and adds the bit of sharp warmth. Overall good, but not great.

Black with a beige head. Dark caramel and whisky aroma along with some roasted malts. Sweet taste with a smooth long finish. Quite thick body as well.

Fles uit barrel age pakket. Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is warm en krachtig, licht zoet en licht bitter met iets van drop, anijs en karamel waarbij de barrel smaak licht in terug te proeven is. Heel fijn bier.

33cl Fles van vdS webshop. Zwart, beige kraag. Zoet, moutig, wat drop, zoet roggebrood, rozijntjes, niet heel veel barrel-invloed, iets van hout en eik maar erg op de achtergrond, wel vrij boozy, dik. Lekker nip-bier, qua smaak goed naar stijl gebrouwen. Volle body.

Bottle sampled at Hoptic festival. Almost black with small head. Sweet chocolate malts, cognac dry wine notes, smoke, soft whisky, light berries and dry cardboard. Solid medium sweet and bitter, light tart. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
