At the point where one year ends and another begins, we met with friends in St. Petersburg from the neighbouring Belarus Midnight Project to brew up an imperial stout under a wild New Year’s Eve. Its 30% density layers into a chocolate sweetness, with a dab of maple syrup and roasted coconut chips added during fermentation. With every sip, the mind can’t help imagining shelves of rich desserts, each with generous helpings of maple and tropical walnut. And its twelve-degree proof will make your body move like the laws of physics are one more thing heading out of fashion.

Pitch black pour with a velvety tan head. Smoke, ash, toasted coconut, roasted malt, dark roasted coffee, chocolate, subtle maple. A bit weird with all the ash, it's an odd mix with the coconut, but otherwise decent stout.

Can shared by Joen. Opaque pitch black color, small of light brown colored head. Aroma is malts, loads of coconut and sugar. Flavor is malts, very sweet, coconut, lactose maybe? Medium roast coming through after a while, doughnut coconut sweet. Not a fan but for someone who likes coconut beers this is probably a winner.

(Keg at Craft Beer Winter Wonderland 2020) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had Palmolive hand soap, coconut and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, more sweetness, coconut, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A way too sweet brew with unpleasant notes.
