Origen del nombre: Sierra Negra es un volcán activo de Galápagos que es atravesada por el equinoccio. Su cráter alberga iguanas, aves y murciélagos que inspiraron a Charles Darwin a investigar los orígenes de las especies. El tono oscuro de la lava y una niebla casi permanente en su flanco sur tienen un atractivo peculiar.

33cl bottle pours a clear amber with some spitty, white head. Nose has corn sugar, candy sugar, apple, quince. Flavor is better but not by much, malt, candy, sweet black tea. Paper too. Sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a tiny beige head. Aroma of malt, brown bread. Taste follows nose, with some coffee notes. Finish is sweet.

Bottle at the 7/27 DC RateBeer tasting. Clear amber with beige head. Aromas of caramel, malt, butter. Tastes of caramel, malt, grain, butter. Light body with a dry finish.

Can at the July DC RB mini-tasting. Poured a dark, clear cola color with a small white head. Aroma was light sweet, toasted malts. Light roast. Sweet finish. Doesn't taste like a whole lot, but it's not offensive. Kind of like an Michelob Amber Bock or something.

If it's a marzen it's better than a marzen. If it's a dunkel, it's worse than most dunkels. Dark brown. Ok, and no major faults. Bottle thanks to Maigua.

330ml bottle-thanks to Leeee-nda for sharing. lt tan-amber. A-bready med malt-some toffee. T-bready med malt-some roast, earthy hop. Somewhat drying finish.
