Äntligen på burk från SB efter att bara ha funnits på en obegriplig 75 cl-flaska. Klassisk bw med kladdig vätska, stor kropp, fina lager av maltig sötma, eldig med värmande alkohol men ändå bra balans. Mycket gott

(Keg at Pikkulintu Puotila, 20241018) The beer poured brown and rather cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, prunes, raisins, molasses and mildly banana. Palate was full bodied and mildly warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, raisins, prunes, biscuits and bitterness. Aftertaste was dry, malty and bitter. A pleasant dry barley wine with appropriate malty notes.

Draught @ Pikkulintu Puotila Aroma has sweet malt and ripe fruits. Flavour has alcohol, sweet fruits, caramel and woody tones. Heavy but balanced slow sipper.

0,3l on tap @ Pikkulintu Puotila. Pours clear deep copper with a low head. Aroma is strong toasted malts with caramel. Flavor is sweet and strong toasted malts with caramel, alcohol, hops. Good.

[ As Oppigårds Thurbo Barley Wine ].
ABV: 12.0%. Clear medium to dark amber colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted, sweet malt, caramel, dried fruit, bog (mose) - marsh - leaves - leaf, wood touch. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, dried fruit, figs - dates, sweet malt, fruity, sweet yeast. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming. [20240119]

Sample (thanks omhper!). Reddish amber colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is dried fruits, some caramel, mild bananas, some alcohol and syrupy tones. Flavour is dried fruits, some syrup, alcohol and some caramel tones with spiciness. Almost more of a Quad than a Barley Wine. Lovely.
