This barrel-aged stout was first aged in bourbon barrels for at least one year, and then finished and blended with mulberries, boysenberries and marionberries. Each addition of berry contributes its own distinct flavor profile, with some adding sweetness and others providing acidity and complexity. A taste of the past, this imperial stout is a balanced and nuanced play on fresh fruit, vanilla, and chocolate.

Bottle at share. Near black pour, not much action. Toasty aroma with some jammy notes. Taste is sweet, fruity, oily, solid Imperial Stout base, but the jammy notes linger and define the character of this beer.

Some roast and some lime. Black ppurbwith decent head. Lots of tang here. Doesnt really work. Not the best variant of this beer. Bottle.

On draft at Dominion. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas are sweet berries. Flavors are sweet with some bourbon in there. Decent but not as good as the original.

Draft at Harvest. Pours an unclear deep brown to black with a finger of brown head that lingers. Big wildberry aromas with marionberry, blackberry and raspberry dominating. Berry acidity, dark chocolate, bourbon and vanilla on the palate. Nice full bodied imperial stout with a well-rounded mouthfeel. Tart berry, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and bourbon on the finish. Very good.

bottle. shared one (cellared another) - be interesting to see how this ages. the sweetness of the unique berries was impressive - ideal in a 4-5oz sample as the sweetness could be overwhelming. again, looking forward to how this matures

Bottle sold at Barreled Souls. Aroma is boysenberry and that mulberry bush. Bourbon is a bit hard to find. Flavor is a mega ton of berries. I suspect this will mellow with time. (As did the OG 2013 variant). Will be better in 11 months.

Bottle at Barreled Souls, 11/24/23. Very, very berry-forward, unsurprisingly. Not as much on the bourbon. Clean though, maybe a hint of medicinal acidity. But not boozey or sugary. Again, not sugary though it's heavy on berry. They're very well-done but dominant. It will certainly soften, but I think it's still quite nice as is. Wish there was more bourbon but it's rich in body and well attenuated with no alcohol.
Very fruity, a little coffee. Sweet enough but a little tart. Delicious! Thanks Ben L.!
