The Naughty Elves were spotted in Cooperstown not long ago full of mischief and mayhem which left us, much to our delight, with an imperial blonde stout; Everything Naughty. A stout that confuses the eyes and tantalizes the taste buds. Anticipate notes of roasted coffee and white chocolate complete with a brilliant golden hue. This rich stout is smooth and velvety with classic stout flavors.

Pounder can. Light haze on pale. Almost tart nose. Heavy leathery taste. Boozy stuff. Warming effects. A little ruder than expected. Maybe some white chocolate in there if you look for it. Some co2 to calm the effects. I wouldn't say this is your typical pastry stout, a little more behaved than mot cloying messes.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear dark gold with a full finger of white foam that lingers. Belgian yeast on the nose with white chocolate as it warms. Palate is very similar with an awkward mix of white chocolate, Belgian yeast and esters and clove. Sweet for sure, but still somewhat enjoyable. I think the Belgian character keeps it interesting.

Can. Pours clear copper red with a small frothy beige head, boozy caramel-chocolate aroma, high carbonation, bitter caramel-chocolate taste with alcohol undertones, thin body, long bitter caramel-chocolate finish. Boozy and bitter.

16 ounce can from Wegmans in Princeton. First of all, I just don’t get this Blonde Stout concept. Having said that, here goes. Orange gold pour. small, bubbly white head. Faint citrus and spice aroma. Flavor upfront is bittersweet and spicy. Notes of pine needles, citrus peel and coffee extract. Some warming alcohol in middle. Overall taste is undesirable. Sticky mouthfeel. Meh! This beer should be on the naughty list!

On tap at Village Bottle Shop & Tasting Room, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of vanilla and cocoa upfront. Flavour has notes of dry earthy coffee, vanilla, and dry cocoa nibs. Finishes dry, with notes of coffee and cocoa. Pretty solid for a big white stout.

Aromas are subdued pale malt and wet grain with hints of spice and floral. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, clove stands way out, sweet bitter tart. Alcohol is well hidden. Too much clove for me.
