Eternal Shrug is a vehicle for our mutual descent into the gaping maw of existence. It’s also a Black IPA hopped with Oregon Chinook, Columbus Cryo, and Amarillo hops. Brutal levels of pine, resin, citrus pith, and dankness surf atop punishing waves of black malt character. It’s very metal, we swear.

Pours a dark brown, bordering on black, with a big, lasting tan head. Aroma is roasted grain, some citrus, some pine. Flavors follow, with some burnt toast. Mouthfeel seems maybe a touch thin? Moderate hop bitterness through the finish. Can from Total Wine & More in Coon Rapids. --- Beer merged from original tick of Eternal Shrug on 31 Dec 2024 at 21:12 - Score: Appearance - 10 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Dark brown pour, one finger beige foamy head, streaky lacing. Light roasty aroma, mild sweetness, chocolate, coffee. Taste brings some roasty bitterness, coffee, burnt toast. Creamy feel.

Black body with off white head. Malty and roast aroma with a bit of hop. Taste starts hoppy, goes to roast malt. Long malt finish with some spice.

At Drunk Uncle, so presumably kind of old..but holds up fine. Thick, heavy specialty malt tones. Solid bitterness, true to style. Good.

Aromas are dark malt, tree bark, roast and resin. Flavors are similar to nose but they don't go that well together. Bittersweet with good body and carbonation. Finish follows flavors.

On tap at the brewery. Pours near black with an earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a rich dark grains and bitter pine with a hint of citrus rind supporting. Flavor has light roast and dark grains that grow with a bitter pine bite backing.
