12 oz. bottle thanks to tfontana on the share. Part of a blind impy stout tasting. Aroma has moderate vanilla with hints of shoe leather. Nice! Flavor is mellow vanilla throughout with a trace of bourbon and mild oak finish. Texture is smooth with a creamy character. 13 % is almost not noticed.

Bottle (2023) from Liquor Junction, Reading. Opaque black with ring of head, light viscosity, trace lacing. Aroma is strong bourbon over earthy roasted malt and vanilla, hint of peat. Taste is strong earthy roasted malt, bourbon, bit of toffee, vanilla, peat. Smooth texture, medium bodied, average carbonation, mostly bourbon/vanilla finish, slightly astringent alcohol. Bourbon a little strong in the aroma.

Dark brown almost black with a three-finger tan head. Aroma is vanilla with hints of coffee and chocolate. Taste is also vanilla coffee and chocolate.

Pours black into a snifter. Tan head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Vanilla brownie aromas. Thick with sweet milk chocolate, nuts and dark chocolate upfront turning to hot vanilla before the lasting latte finish. Becomes cloying and ashen as it warms.

On tap at The Greats of Craft NYC, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma has huge vanilla beans, some bourbon barrels, and chocolate fudge. Flavour is full of vanilla beans, chocolate fudge, and bourbon barrels. Good flavour combo, though the palate is a bit sludgy. Nice stuff overall, just needs a bit of refinement to get that palate consistency better.

Pours black with a small tan head. It smells of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, and roast malt. The flavor has plenty of bourbon while not letting it overwhelm the rest. It’s balanced with a hefty dose of hops. The vanilla, chocolate, and roast malt are in there and the booze is mostly buried by the intense flavors of this huge imperial stout. Excellent.
