Bottled, from Gulating, Loddefjord. Hazy brown, huge, lively head. Piney yeasty nose with some licorice. Light bodied with spritzy mouthfeel. Brettanomycaes dominates. Some coffee and pine. Mid bitter finish. Pretty sure the brett is unintended, but quite interesting as is.

Zwart bier met veel stevig schuim. Smaak is licht zuur en ietwat fruitig met sporen van pruimen en iets van een zuurtje wat niet echt past bij dit soort bier. Lijkt niet echt op een porter.

Flaske (best før 02.12.17) fra Gulating Stavanger, hjemme etter endt brygging: brunsvart med imponerende højt skum, nesten for mye av det gode - det stenger for aromaen, i tillegg til at overkarboneringen hemmer smaksinntrykkene. Aroma: litt røstet malt og ganske mye humle (furunål, visne solbær og jordtoner). Slank smak hvor humlen fortsatt dominerer over malten, men når temperaturen i glasset har steget en del fornemmer jeg kaffe- og sjokoladetoner. Fin tørrhet i ettersmaken.

Taste: Dark malt, roasted. Tar, but not in a nice way. Something strange going on. Lacks balance.

0.5l bottle from #150018. This one pours a cloudy dark brown colored body with a really tall and fluffy, looking almost over carbonated with big bubbles, dark beige head. Lots and lots of foamy lacings down the glass. The first thing I get in the nose is vanilla and sweet chocolate cake. A little nutty sweetness, Nutella perhaps. Smells like a good brown ale, not so much a porter, but quite nice. Tastes pretty bad. It has this super watery texture in the mouth and it's just over carbonated and huge-bubbled on the carbonation. It's really dusty and chalky with something that reminds me of mild chloride. This is just horrible, and I cannot drink this. What a shame. 29.02.2016

500ml bottle bought at Meny Oslo City. A bubbly, solid, tan-coloured head slowly declining over a deep, dark brown coloured body. Crocheted lacing. Smell of earth, wood and sulfur. Unbalanced and rather strange taste of roasted dark malts, salty liquorice and sulfur. Possible to drink perhaps, but I did not empty the bottle (Tromsø 08.01.2016).
