Whisky Barrel Aged Heavily Peated Imperial Stout (Laphroaig).
Now first of all, don’t get things mixed up: Black Donald was here way before that other Donald. And Black Donald is not involved in race or politics. Black Donald is all about plain evil, because he is himself the Devil – plain and simple. Black Donald takes many shapes. He may come as the well-dressed guest at the poker table – only given away by the cloven-hoofed goat feet he hides underneath. Those feet will always give him away, no matter what disguise he uses. And as a goat is how you’ll most often see him – with a long chain clanking after him. As this shape-shifting goat, Black Donald is known to cause terror all over the North of Scotland, often for no other purpose than to simply frighten people. If for some reason you need the help of the Devil – for instance against your enemies – a so called taghairm can be formed. A sort of spiritual calling involving the spit-roasting of live cats. It’s a long and complicated ceremony, and we honestly cannot recommend it. Also since you will forever be indebted to Black Donald himself.

If you like heavy peat…then you can try this one. Otherwise…do not buy The heavy peated malt completely destroyed everything else Ok…it is surely meant to be like this. So I will not slaughter it totally But it was quite horrible to be fair [Bottle from Best of Beers - Vinspecialisten in Aalborg, Denmark]

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of heavy smoke, peat, bitter chocolate, coffee, licorice and booze. Taste has rich meaty smoke, strong peat, iodine, bitter chocolate, burned caramel, salty licorice, roasted malt and booze. Like drinking malty black islay. Great.

Not on the vid, but based on the checklist. Smell- medium-strong to even strong, alcohol, malt, acidic, coffee, Moka, interesting. Foam- medium-thick to thick, roast, alcohol, coffee notes. Head is small, dark brown color, kind of like coffee. Appearance- amazing bottle art and bravery unique bottlecap. Very dark, brown, orange color, but can say that black, some very, very carbonation bubbles. Taste- roast, malt, alcohol, Moka, coffee, sweetness, alcohol again and some bitter notes. This is heavy and you can feel it, a lot of alcohol, but very nice to enjoy with something so at the end I seem to like it.

deep dark Brown colour, moderate sized beige head, which disappears completely within a minute or so; aroma of whisky, peat, burnt woody-smokey, slight vanilla, dark chocolate, cocoa powder and unripe plum notes; taste is basically the same; great one!

Bottle. Close to black in the glass, with a dense finger-thick beige head. Quite heavy peat aroma, with burnt malts, some roasted notes, molasses, brown sugar and prunes, and a good dash of cocoa. It's full-bodied, warming and soft on the palate, with a good dash of peat in the flavor. Roasted malts, burnt notes, molasses and cocoa in the flavor, some dried fruits and a touch of bonfire in the back. Sweet, with a decent bitterness. Everlasting finish. Too heavy on the peat this one, at least for me, but it sort of works. And well hidden alcohol. Nice indeed. 190713

Pours viscously to cream-mossy-greige, small head over black beer, looking and smelling as tarr. Islay malt, tarr, phenols, much roast/burnt. Sweet-roast-burnt-Islay-smoked in a quasi perfect balance. Currants, raisins, Islay whisky, plums, and a sharp leafy flavour. Fiery alcoholheat, slick to viscous, oily textured, well bodied. Very nice one. Trump looks flattered on the label.

bottle from menu. pitch black, light brown head. aroma is sweet roasted peat, charred wood, roasted malts. chocolate, very complex aroma. flavor is sweet roasted malts, whisky, peat whisky. quite agressively barrelled, wood and peat is quite intense, almost at the point where it starts also tasting like glue. i like smoked peat barrel aged beer, so i also like this one, although it is quite unbalanced and quite not so smooth.

330 ml bottle. Pours black with a moderate head. Aromas of iodine, peat, dark fruit and bready malts. Flavors follow same. Big peat as advertised; well integrated with a smooth creamy malt base.

Bottle from Boxbeers. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, dried fruit and heavy peat. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter with a little warming alcohol. Oily. 280419
