La Salamandre, the original BFM, wheat beer, fresh and spicy. Brewed with wheat- and barley malt, La Salamandre is a beer with a bloomy and tangy bouquet. On the palate, the subtle hints of yeast render the beer creamy with a tad o’ tartness, which is typical for wheat beers. The finish is hardly bitter, but racy, with a taste of bitter orange zest and discrete hops.

33 cl swing-top bottle, thanks to tkrjukoff!BB NOV 2011, sampled on April 1, 2011Label marked with 5.5% ABVShady yellow color, big frizzy white head. Spicy, apcricot scent. A bit stale, citrus, sort of acidic, peach taste. Apple and mineral aftertaste. Moussy mouthfeel, low bitterness.OK in small amounts, but more for tasting than drinking to me.

bottle, vielen Dank an Allen! Hazy pale yellow colour, large white head- sourish wheaty nose. Wheaty, quite sour with a citrusy character, slightly hoppy. A bit sour for the style, otherwise quite nice.

33cl bottle. pours golden, thin white head. aroma, definitely has some lingering sour notes followed by zesty citrus and wheat. flavors, light fizzy mouthfeel, some spices and citrus, sour aspect is present but not overpowering, still enough to make this beer a little different from the regular style. Carbonation is lively and at times overly fizzy with the yeast and citrus adding to the finish.

Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - wheaty, moderate hoppy, citrus, lemon, moderate yeasty, spices, spice - herbs.
