La Salamandre, the original BFM, wheat beer, fresh and spicy. Brewed with wheat- and barley malt, La Salamandre is a beer with a bloomy and tangy bouquet. On the palate, the subtle hints of yeast render the beer creamy with a tad o’ tartness, which is typical for wheat beers. The finish is hardly bitter, but racy, with a taste of bitter orange zest and discrete hops.

(swing top bottle, 33cl, with thanks to Allen) Hazy, pale golden colour with a blond mid-sized foamy head. Sweet and slightly sour fruity (citrus) and wheaty aroma with very present coriander spice and traces of soap/vegetables. Moderately sweet and sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Delicately yeasty, wheat-malty taste with notes of citrus and rather modest notes of coriander; almost dry, sourish and slightly tart and spicy finish. 17.I.10

The bottle looks simple, but good. The beer in the glass quite light, huge head, modest turbid. Sourish aroma. Starts fine fruity like lemon and apricot, quite sourish. Finish is a bit dry-floury. Still quite drinkable. Good one. Big thanks to Allen for the bottle!

Medium offwhite head. Hazy yellow body with lots of little particles. Earthy spicy coriander aroma with mealy notes. Dry mealy earthy taste with grainy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish resiny spicy earthy aftertaste with herbal coriander notes. Not that much flavour, but no off-tastes. (0.33l bottle, from wine monopoly web order. This is the second rating. First rated an infected bottle received in a trade.)

Swing top bottle from Allen, thanks! Pale blonde, cloudy. lemon, yeast, chalk and vinegar in the aroma. Lemony sour flavor with notes of wine vinegar and onion. Intentional infection? The result is certainly drinkable.

Bottle courtesy of mgermani: Poured a medium yellow color ale with a pure white bubbly head with average retention but no lacing. Aroma of light wheat malt is not the most interesting. Taste is a mix between some light wheat malt notes with no spices really discernable and some traces of sourness. Full body with some limited filtration and some medium carbonation. Definitely not the best beer fro this usually fine brewery.

Wondered what this was when I had it. BB 2005, old dirty bottle. Unclear yellow with no head. Sour white wine aroma. Vinous vinegar taste. Fruits (apple) & honey are traced. Acidic flavor & watery body! Might have been infected?
