330ml bottle. Hazy, brown-ish, dark amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Toasty, slightly chocolately, dark and caramel malty aroma, minimally grassy and leafy, hoppy overtones, a touch of toffee. Taste is toasty, slightly roasty, minimally chocolately, dark and caramel malty, mildly bitter, grassy, leafy and minimally fruity, hoppy, hints of coffee, dark caramel, a touch of baked apple. Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. A tad disharmonious - OK.

On tap at Craftbeer Corner Coeln, pours a cloudy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma reveals earthy bready malt, restrained resinous hops, and some soil-like notes. Flavour has a slightly more aggressive hop character than the nose suggested, with resins, light pine, and bready malt. Bready, resinous finish. Quite pleasant.

Gut. 9/10/9/10/10/10

0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, best before June 2024. Murky, reddish brown with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity and slightly resiny aroma of caramel, red fruits, grapefruit, some pine and light nuts. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, quite fruity and gently resiny taste of caramel, grapefruit, red fruits, nuts, some pine and a touch of chocolate, followed by a short, gently bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty ale, rather saturating and intense, somewhere between an American Red and an American Brown, although only German hops were used.
