The third in a row of North Brabant beers, this time an apparently still new tripel by 3 Horne, located in Kaatsheuvel since 1990 and thus preceding the Dutch craft beer revolution; thanks tderoeck for sharing. Egg-white, dense and creamy, stable head, hazy orange blonde robe with amberish tinge, turning cloudy and beige-hued with sediment. Aroma of dried apricot, mandarin, coriander seed, fried tomato peel, cereals, honey, dried orange zest. Sweet onset, very sweet even, with persimmon, baked banana and apricot impressions, quite lively carbonated; smooth to even somewhat oily mouthfeel, slick cereally in its core with caramelly edges. Honeyish residual sugars weigh in heavy over this malt sweet core, while coriander adds a mild and soft spiciness; some floral hops provide an all too weak bitter element while the alcohol gently warms the throat. Sugary sweetness and soapy coriander annoyingly linger. Good for the masses I guess, but boring and too sweet even for its intended style.

22/XII/23 - 33cl bottle @ home, BBE: 2023 (2023-1189) Thanks to Akke for the bottle!

Clear orange blond beer, lots of chunks floating around under a big creamy off-white head, stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet and sugary impression, bubble gum, malty, vanilla, dirty, urinals, what? That’s a pretty bad smell. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sweet and sugary, lots of orange peel, very sugary, sticky, cloying, bah. Aftertaste: very sweet, yeasty, soft bitterness, sugary, soapy, bah, don’t like it.
