Birell semi-dark combines the hoppy bitterness of light beers and the gentle sweetness of dark beers. You will taste the caramel tones of roasted malt, while its shiny amber color is darker. Like the classic pale variant, it is produced in the Nošovice brewery with a unique technology using special yeasts that produce a minimum of alcohol. It does not contain preservatives, artificial colors or artificial sweeteners.

Clear dark orange beer, creamy light beige head, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: very malty, bit sourish, card board, hay, cow fodder. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit sour, hint of caramel, hay, malty, metallic. Aftertaste: very metallic, bitter hops, somewhat sourish.

Bottle. Moderately strong oxidized aroma and flavour. In comparison with standard Birell it is considerably less oxidized+metallic and some light caramel pokes out. Still very thin and watery and seriously flawed, but not as bad as the classic Birell.

500ml bottle kindly shared by djoeye. Bright amber coloured body. Low off-white head. Vague smell of brown malts. Mild taste of pale malts and wort like hints. Watered and rather empty (Tromsø 22.01.2015).

Das ist ja mal ein wirklich widerliches Gebräu. Ein halbdunkles alkoholfreies Biergetränk. Von Aromen kann ich gar nicht viel erzählen weil es primär einfach nur grauslich ist. Es hat den metallsich-giftig-süßen Geschmack eines billigen Alkoholfreien gepaart mit den Noten von ranziger Butter und gammligen Karamell. Mir fällt eigentlich kein Grund ein, sich dieses Bier zu kaufen, außer eine miese Bewertung zu schreiben.

Can @ Hotel, Prague. Pours light yellow with a white head. Aroma of grain, corn, light grass. Flavor is malt, grain, corn, cardboard. Thin body, lively carbonation. 070812

*** CZECH BEER # 650 *** bottle from Enapo in Rumburk. Clear amber-brown colour, large and creamy off-white head. Malty with hints of roasted malts and caramel, resiny and bitter hop flavours especially in the finish. Very light-bodied.
