When brewers say West Coast IPA, we envision assertive bitterness, bold hoppy aroma with citrus or piney resin flavours from the classic american hops. The origin of West Coast IPA dates back to the late 1980s when American craft brewers began experimenting with bolder, hoppier beers. This style was created in response to the light lagers that dominated the market. It quickly gained popularity among beer drinkers looking for something new. During this time, breweries largely used the hops that were grown on the US west coast, which gave rise to the name West Coast IPAs.

(Can, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 6 Sep 2024) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, peaches, grass, a touch of caramel and toast. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, peaches, grass, bread and a balanced citric/grassy bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Refreshing, with a good hop presence. Nice one.
