bottle red orange, beige smooth head mild malty aroma that is very slightly dark fruity, also more generic fruity, like apples, sweet orange peel, coriander perhaps. Flavor is malty, slightly spicy and not so much its a problem, fruity-malty. the palate is almost soft but also a bit prickly, I would have loved it to be a bit smoother, spices dominate the bitterness towards the end, which is moderate. Decent juleøl, not extreme in any way, but with some extra spiciness and flavor nevertheless.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Deep honeyish golden colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, some honey and mild sweet malty tones with some slight spicy tones to it.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brownish amber with large offwhite head. Aroma is malt, caramel and hints of hazelnuts, straw and lemon zest. Taste is light sweet, light bitter and light acidic. Body is watery with fizzy carbonation. Finish is a bit short and mostly sweet with notes of malt, caramel, roasted hazelnuts, copper cookware and hints of bitter grapefruit. Turns dry and a bit chalky towards the end. Pleasantly surprising not too sweet.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, reddish amber with an off-white head. Slightly caramelly and biscuity in the nose. Medium body, toffee and biscuity with just sufficient bitterness. A flawless Vienna. 171123
