Time to hop on the Bandwagon! The fourth beer in our series of big fat IPA's is part of Yakima Chief's HBC Elite Hop Trials. We were given HBC630 (Berry, Cherry, Candy, Creamy) and HBC735 (Lemon, Cantaloupe) to play around with. Incognito Citra gives a solid backbone for the experimental varieties to shine on. The generous use of oats gives 418 a smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a pleasant soft bitterness that will leave you wanting more.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Hazy golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, some alcohol, mild earth and some grains. Flavour is floral, fruity, and some toffeeish and nectary tones. Smooth, but a bit alcoholic.

0,44 l can in the bumper sticker style of this series. Again looking like orange juice with an one finger head in the glass but also smelling like orange juice with grape. Taste has a lot of pine at the start, orange and grape in the second row. Smooth at the palate. Malty bedding. Low carbonated. Low but present bitterness. Hidden alcohol. Nice.
