(Cask at Angleterre, 20191022) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized, white and it lasted long. Aroma had malts, earth and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were earth, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was grassy, malty and bitter. A pleasant bitter with earhy finish.

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. An attractive copper coloured beer with a loose white head; old fashioned malty aroma; a citrus taste to start with a biscuit body, then some bitter orange marmalade to finish. A proper best bitter.

I was going to add ’Forward Pass’, as a new Six Nations themed beer, however I suspect it was just a rebadged version of this. Cask at Swan, Farnborough. A funky fruity aroma, but dialed down low. Light chestnut. Off-white head, starts off pretty lively before fading slightly. Light bitter. Malts. Some underlying sourness. But really not much going on, so like a rugby match in that respect. Light. Soft carbonation. An easy finish. Goes down easily enough but so would a flat coke, which would be just as inspiring tastewise.
