Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a hazy amber/orange colour with a medium sized creamy off white head. Aromas of wood, whiskey, vanilla, apricots and sweet plums. Taste has the same notes coming through, wood, whiskey, vanilla with lots of stewed stoney fruit and some warming alcohol. Medium body with average carbonation. Nicely balanced and not too overly sweet as some of these high percentage alcohol beers tend to be. Alcohol well hidden for the 12% strength. Very good enjoyable sipper.

Bottle, 12%. Mild aroma of dried apricot. Hazy copper colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour is nicely malty, almost sweet. Has some vanilla, white sugar notes, dried apricot. Mild and warming alcohol. Fairly sweet, but balanced nicely by the alcohol. It has subtle vanilla notes, but there is not much barrel in the flavour.

Bottled. Amber colour with a mediumsized foamy off-white head. Aroma is floral, some alcohol, mild wine gums and some toffeeish tones with a wee bit of vanilla. Flavour is mild wood, some fruity, floral, some toffee and mild spicy tones with a wee bit of alcohol to it.

Oranjebruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is warm en krachtig zoet met iets van sinaasappel, wat honing en banaan. Van de whiskey is echter weinig te merken.

A dark yellow beer, a head is surprisingly small and blond. Aroma has fruitness which is balancing between fresh and dried, perry, apricot, hint of banana, some fructose, maybe hint of barrel. Taste has the similar fruitness that is in the aroma, but dried fruits are more dominating, hint of vanilla. Medium+ bodied, surprisingly easily drinkable. Good beer with nice fruitness and not too dominating barreling.
