Brimming with rich dried fruit, chocolate and roasty-toasty malt flavours. It takes a lot of malt to make an 8.5% beer, and all that sweetness is carefully tempered with peppery hops and the dry finish from our Yorkshire Square fermentation techniques.

From a 330ml bottle on 3/7/2018. Pours dark brown with the barest of heads. The nose features brown sugar and caramel. The flavour is very malty - lots of brown sugar, treacle, golden syrup, caramel and a bit of dark fruit. It finishes with a mild to moderate roasty, ever so slightly sour, bitterness. Relatively light bodied for an impy, with moderate carbonation. Not a stand out by any means, but fairly solid and enjoyable.

Pours deep chestnut brown with small beige head that soon transforms into moderate laces. Big fruit esters on nose accompanied by roasted malts and a light alcoholic note. Medium body. Malty flavour picture. The roast is obvious. Dried fruit, spirits, chocolate and coffee on ending. Low to light bitterness.

Bottle: Very deep ruby-amber coloured, small but persisting and lacy off-white head; moderate sweet caramelly-fruity nose with a certain amount of toasted malt in the second row; moderate and relatively dry bitter-sweet flavour, relatively light bodied for a beer of this strength; slightly lingering dryish bitter and toasty finish. Good, but lacking a certain complexity...

Bottle. Dark brown color, good tan foam. Sweetish aroma of fried and roasted malt, wine and caramel, butterscotch, a little butter. Taste similar: slightly sour yeast, buttery, caramel, coffee, wine, a little chocolate. Calm stout.

Dark brown color, almost black; generous beige head. Thin dark ale, some dark caramel flavor, but very light aroma and simple flavor; traces of liquorice; I guess that using sugar didn’t help.
Very timid offer.

Aroma has toffee, licorice and hayish notes. Flavour has toffee, strong British hops, some grapefruit, licorice and grassy tones. Feels thin for IS. Very British.

Bottle thanks tolmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a decent crema head. But it disappears quickly. Nose - candied sugar and liquorice. Chocolate following it in. Taste - molasses into liquorice. Then kinda dry. Palate - medium to full bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry and slightly abrasive texture and a long dry finish. The Overall - decent but not for the style.
