Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours dark brown with a slight, transient dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate and vanilla with perhaps a hint of rye spice. Med body. Flavor is slightly chalky/milky chocolate with vanilla and a bit of rye spice. Neither dry nor sweet. Slightly chocolaty bitter. Smooth, good flavor.

Ein Bier das härter aussieht 👀 als es dann wirklich ist: so ist es pechschwarz, ölig und hat kaum Schaum. Da dachte ich schon am ein alkoholisches Imperial Stout 🐈⬛, aber geschmacklich ist es schön sanft und schokoladig 🍫 ohne brutale Schnapsaromen. Es ist nicht so tief wie manch andere Schwarze, aber dafür umso bekömmlicher und fast schon süffig. Als gemütliches Feierabendbier passt es sehr gut.

Appearance- nearly black, with a small bubbly beige head which goes quickly. Aroma is chocolate, toffee, caramel, dark malt, toasty nutty malt, vanilla hints. Taste is chocolate, dark malt, toasty notes, cocoa, vanilla, hints of caramel, milky coffee. Tasty and smooth.

Can. Darkest brown, dark amber foam. Dark roast, lightly burnt caramel, rural, farty, herbal and aromatic hops. Medium body, foamy, sparkly. Roast, minerally edges, cocoa, citric, floery hops, dry wooden finish. Surprisingly refreshing given the flavor intensity.

Bottled@M/S Star. Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is chocolate, creamy, oats, some mild floral and vanilla notes. Flavour is toasted, chocolate, some vanilla, oats and mild bitterness as well.

12oz can from Lexington Co-op. Dark brown pour, wispy beige head. Roasty, chocolaty aroma. Taste is subtle roasty, burnt toast, chocolate, mild sweetness. So smooth. Exquisite.
