2024年最初のビールは、奈良醸造として初めての試みとなる、アーティストとコラボレーションしたアメリカンIPA。

コラボレーションしたのは、世界的なインダストリアルデザイナー シド・ミード。彼は『∀ガンダム』をはじめ日本でも多数の作品やプロダクトのアートワークを手掛けられています。

シド・ミードと兼ねてから交流を深めていた日本のエージェントである松井博司氏は、普段は奈良で割烹「吟」を営む料理人。彼がクラフトビールのファンであったことから、今回シド・ミード生誕90周年を機に本企画を発案し、コラボレーションビールを造るに至りました。

完成したビールは、ホップの香りを存分に楽しめるしっかりとした味わいのアメリカンIPA。Mosaicホップ由来のパッションフルーツのアロマに、Citraホップの柑橘のアロマが重なった豊かな香り。口に含むと甘みを伴った密度のある味わいの後、オレンジを思わせる爽やかな苦味がアフターテイストに感じられます。

また酵母は奈良醸造で度々使用しているKveik酵母。ノルウェーに起源を持つこの酵母を通常のエールビールの発酵温度の倍近い高温で発酵させることで、独特の味わいを引き出しています。

The first beer of 2024 is an American IPA, marking Nara Brewing's first collaboration with an artist ever. . Collaborating with the esteemed industrial designer SYD MEAD, renowned for his artwork in numerous works and products, including "∀ Gundam." Hiroshi Matsui, a Japanese agent closely associated with SYD MEAD, manages a traditional Japanese restaurant named "Gin" in Nara. Being an avid craft beer enthusiast, he proposed this collaborative project , resulting in the creation of this collaborative beer. This beer presents a generous infusion of hop aromas. It shows a rich aroma blending the passion fruit of Mosaic hops with the citrusy scent of Citra hops. It offers a dense flavor with accompanying sweetness, followed by a refreshing bitterness reminiscent of oranges in the aftertaste.
