Dark roasted chocolate malts produce this dry, full-bodied ruby black beer with deep notes of treacle and coffee. So velvety smooth it glides across the tongue like a mythical monster beneath the surface of a loch!

Bottle at Qbrick. A cola black pour with a thick beige head and a soft cocoa and oats aroma. Medium to light bodied with a sweet bitter dark chocolate and honeyed oats flavor. Surprisingly good.

Keg tap at Cambridge Brew House. Very dark brown, but a little bit of light gets through. Some tan head and lots of lacing. Slight chocolate and latte overtones in the aroma, with a surprising dose of vinegar. taste is sweet and chocolatey but without much depth. Medium short finish, a touch of chocolate malt and fruity hop in the aftertaste. Too cold to fully appreciate the silky mouthfeel. This would be better in cask (in good cask condition of course).

0.5l bottle from lot 331. A gift from my kind girlfriend this one! Pours a dark deep dark amber ruby colored body with a huge really fluffy almost cloudy off-white lacing head on top. On the nose this is somewhat mild, but I get traces of nice mild milk chocolate and a faint roasted element in the back. Some dark sweetness also detected here. A faint but pleasant acidity, like coffee acidity also. I like. Tastes quite decent also I have to say. Lots of chocolate and coffee tones here. It's not directly roasted but it has a dark malty element all the way. In the mouth it's really gliding and almost a little slick while it's soft on the bubbles. Yeah, it's really lightdrinkable this. Some traces of dark cardboard all the way in the back but it's not disturbing. I actually quite enjoyed this one. 30.08.2014
