Dark roasted chocolate malts produce this dry, full-bodied ruby black beer with deep notes of treacle and coffee. So velvety smooth it glides across the tongue like a mythical monster beneath the surface of a loch!

Medium tan head. Deep dark red body, barely translucent. Light earthy aroma with notes of chocolate. Thin acidic papery taste with brett notes. Probably spoiled, should probably rerate. (0.5l bottle.)

(500 ml bottle on RBESG 2006) Dark color, tan head. Sweet and alcohol scent, smokey also. Strange for a so low alocohol beer as 4.5% (from the label) to smell of alcohol, but still. Watery mouth feel. Acid sour and malty taste. Bitter after taste.

Bottled. Dark brown colour, big brown head. Plum, dark dry fruit and weak alcoholic (!!) aroma. Flavour is sweet malty, acidic and plummy. Flavour was very boring compared to the aroma. Also some metallic hints noteable in flavour.

Deep dark porter with a medium off-white head. Sweet chocolate in aroma, short lived. Sweet sourish porter rather light and dissapointing, with a watery body. Brought back by Mike from Scotland. Nov. 2005, Mikeβs place.

500ml bottle from Real Ale. Black beer with beige lasting tight head. Lots of choc/coffee. Some liquorice. Quite good with the sandwich I was eating. Some grainyness, some sourness. Fine but missing something. Some tobacco and tea on the aftertaste

Lovely rich orangepeel and coffee aroma. Jet black, low head. Metallic coffee flavoring which doesnt quite lives up to the aroma and a unnfoortunate thinnish metallic body.

Nearly black beer; yellowish brown head, fast gone. Combination of black coffee and freshly cut orange aromas, touch of stout-acidity and fruity sweetness Γ nd a little bitter burnt nose. Dry-roasted, nearly scorched stout taste. Some dark grains, cigarette ashes. Light aftertaste, texture is bit thin. Beautiful nose, a pity about the palate, but stil an excellent and very balanced porter. Thanks, Tom!

A dark brown beer with a small disappearing brown head. The aroma is of roasted malts and coffee, while the flavor is sweet and very dry roasted, but also with hints of coffee. Unfortunately the body is a little thin.
