Despite Simplex being an ale, it has all the characteristics of an old-styled pils. It is a blond, unfiltered, unpasteurized, hoppy and bitter beer that remains low in alcohol. Resulting in a straw blonde, highly drinkable beer with plenty of flavor and character.

Taste: Refreshing, light and with a firm bitterness

22/06/2017 @home - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. clear yellow with nice creamy white head. Nose is malty, bit hay, hints of spice. Taste has first a sweet malty touch, touch of grains, than some moderate hop bitterness. Sweeter and less bitter than expected so they surprised me again. Nice!

Flaska från SB. En lättare XX bitter som verkligen nte kompromissar med smakerna och med en lättare kropp blir den höiga och gräsiga beskan ännu påtagligare. Härlig belgojäst karaktär i grunden bär också smakerna. Riktigt gott.

9/VI/17 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: 10/III/22, L19T13MAA17 (2017-800)

Clear dark blond beer, huge creamy dense white head, pretty solid, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of citrus notes, grapefruit, little grassy, soapy touch, bit floral, delicate smell though. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: little soapy from the hops, some citrus, very bitter and dry, grassy, bit metallic. Aftertaste: really bitter, fruity touch, bit metallic, some malty touch, very dry and bitter finish.

Hazy straw golden color with a fine white head. Solid lacing. Looks inviting. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Fine medium body and a fine carbonation level. Mellow fine sweetness. Malty, herbal, mild citric and mild fruity flavor. Nice refreshing and easy drinkable beer. Far far away from a normal Kölsch :-)

0,33l bottle at home. BB 23.03.2019. yellow rather hazy color, small white head. smells citric, doughy, yeasty, light musty, light sweetness, bit flowery. nice smell. light body, medium carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes grassy, citric, earthy, peppery, light yeast, bit musty, some grains. finishes medium bitter with notes of citrus, grass and grains. nice one overall, bitterness is almost a bit harsh for me, I would prefer it a bit more mellow. overall nice beer.
