Death by Chocolate Cake. What would happen if we took one of the nation’s best loved, super-indulgent desserts for inspiration, and applied it to our most indulgent beer? Even more cacao nibs, even more Cypress wood, even more depth. It’s doubled down and ramped up to imperial strength. The Amburana is still critical. Its spicy, fragrant spirals impart all kinds of different flavours, not dissimilar to the complexity of tonka beans. It's remarkable how we all seem to pick up something different from them.

Tap at Half Barrel event. Rich dark pour. Nose is fruit cake and chocolate. The cedar helps cut the richnesss. Quite fruity and deep chocolate. Slight alcohol warming but overall easy drinking. Dangerous

33cl bottle (bottled 28/11/2018) from Malt Attacks in Brussels. F: thin, tanned, not long lasting. C: black, opaque. A: chocolate, cocoa, dried plums, dark caramel, bit coffee, bit spicy. T: a lot of chocolate, coffee, cocoa, bit orange, spicy, bit earthy, dry on the palate, woody, dark cherries, full body, lower carbonation, very good balanced, taste bit better than aroma yet very enjoyable for sure for me.
