(website) Sometimes when you name a beer after a famous historical figure, hypothetically, there may be another company that has also named a product after the same historical figure, so then you just have to come up with a super cool new name, along with some absolutely phenomenal artwork . . . and problem solved.

Dank pine, grapefruit peel, and caramel malt aroma. Dark amber with moderate tan head. Moderately sweet citrus/apple, caramel malt, and moderately bitter dank pine and grapefruit peel flavor. Nice body. An Irish IPA?

Answers the question of what happens when you hop an Irish Red Ale like a modern IPA. Very good if you want a red IPA, not so much if you were looking for something more traditional. Caramel and a little wet malt sweetness, but mostly pine and grapefruit and tropical fruit with a firm IPA bitterness on the finish. I really like it, but slightly disappointed it’s not just a well-made malty Irish red.

Cheap bottle at Julios think they discounted all the extra Irish red ales they stocked. Bright amber pour. Nose is red fruits and some earth. Tastes of cheery, plum, floral, earth and caramel. Light bodied.
