This here honey-raison bombshell is a warm and cozy black American IPA with dark coffee beans and smoked malts. It’s no holiday gimmick, friends, serious stuff. Can at De Brasserie, Emmen. Smoked dark malt aroma with hoppy notes. Notes of chocolate, orange, some grapefruit. Smokey hoppy malty finish. Medium bitter flavour. Bonus point for the style, it's like a light Smoked BIPA.

Nearly black color and a nice off-white head. Smokey nose, roasty malts, faint DARK fruits. Taste Is Smokey, roasted malts, some Vanilla flavors, rather light Body for 7.7%alc. Finish with malty.and bonfire flavors.

Donkerbruin bier met mooie schuimkraag. Smaak is vrij bitter en licht zoet met overduidelijk wat rook, umami en een vleug rozijnen en wat hars. Aparte smaak maar best ok.

Can 33cl. @home poured into a teku glass. Opaque amberbrown with a red hue, good frothy tan head, good retention, light lacing. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, smoke, bacon, dark fruits, cocoa powder. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, roasted malt, smoke, caramel, raisins, dried dark fruits. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, mild sweetbitter aftertaste, lingering light roastiness, chocolate and dark fruits notes, rich and tasty, good one.

On tap at Proeflokaal Arendsnest, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma reveals plenty of smoked peated malt and a touch of raisins. Flavour is full of smoked malt, light peat, and light earthiness. Light smoke, gentle peated character. Not much raisins. Thin body. It's alright.

Brown with a frothy, white head. Charred raisins. Burnt caramel. Bitter. Rising woodsmoke at the finish. It warranted a second pour during our evening at ‘t Taphuys.
