Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is toasty malts with caramel and a hint of fruits. Flavour is moderate bitter and light sweet. Light to medium body.

330ml bottle. Minimally milky, auburn colour with average, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, more off-white than white head. Mellow, slightly bready and minimally spicy, malty aroma, hints of caramel and dark honey, a touch of pumpernickel, minimally earthy, fruity hoppy overtones with a touch of red berries. Taste is sweet-ish, dark malty, slightly caramel malty, hints of malt lozenge, a touch of caramel and dark honey, hoppy overtones with a minimally metallic touch; malty basis breaks down after two thirds, a watery finish with an earthy hoppy touch takes place. Creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation. Nice colour, nice mouthfeel, nice nose; weak, monotonous, watery teste - meh!

A clear reddish golden beer with a off white head. Aroma of reddish malt, caramel, some red fruits. Taste of caramelized malt red malt, berries, resins.

0.33 l bottle from 'Craftbeershop.com', best before October 2024. Clear, deep amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, a little musty aroma of caramel, wet leaves and some nuts. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, minimally fruity taste of caramel, some raisins and hints of nuts, followed by a short, gently bitter, a bit dry finish. Medium body, gently effervescent, soft carbonation. Well-balanced but a bit tame, pleasant to drink but overall not the best effort from Maisel, lacks excitement, and it's not even red.
