(Keg at Oluthuone Haka, 20240817) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had toasted malts, molasses and grass. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, biscuits, molasses, grass, hints of treacle and medium bitterness. Aftertaste had toasted malts, molasses and bitterness. A tasty malty brew with balanced sweet notes. The ABV was well hidden.

A clear reddish brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of strong dark caramelized malt, some red fruits, raisins. Taste of strong caramelized, nuts, dried fruits, slightly boozy.

Draught Small yellowish rim, left over reddish cola-coloured beer. Bit ashes, caramel, toffee, glazed sweet nuts, fleeting hint of ureum. Caramel, with a bitterish overtone. Lots of sweetness underneath - again like caramelized nuts - and a good dose of the old ethanol. Not very carbonated, chewy, full-bodied, faint alcoholheat. Nothing wrong, but it is not very original. And I wonder whether this is bottom fermentation?

Pours clear dark copper. No head. Scent is solid, dried fruits, caramel, dark bread, spicy touch almost. Taste is full, fairly thick bodied, low carbo. Medium bitter, full on dried fruits, nutty aspect to it, caramel, malty ( dark bread) . Long lasting finish of everything already named. Not a super surprising beer, but the complexity and balance, the purity and technicality make this one stand out.
