(Keg at Pien Shop, 20210123) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate and vanilla. Palate was full bodied and lightly warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, woody and bitter. A surprisingly nice burnt brew with strong barrel notes.

Bottle.Christmas present from my wife.Black colour with of beige head.Aroma is smooth and roasted with flavour of chocolate and bourbon nice warming and we'll balanced hint of burnt wood and coffee just a world class beer.

Dark, roasty and thick and. Lots of dark roasted coffee and some chocolate, fairly sweet. Masks alcohol really well, nice.

Tap @ Mikkeller Helsinki. Poured pitch black with a thin brown head. Ashy and heavy roasty nose. Oily mouthfeel, full bodied with some wood and light bourbon notes. Ashy finish. Still surprisingly drinkable.

Draught @ Mikkeller, Odense. Pours black with a creamy beige head and lacings. Lovely wood and good roasted coffee with notes of vanilla and chocolate. Full bodied. Big nice sipper.

Flaska från WarPigs. Hur denna (och alla andra varianter av olika långt lagrade) kan vara 9,3% är något oklart. Svart utan någon egentligen krona. Låg kolsyra. Finsk tjärpastill, salmiak, Bourbon-hetta, svartmalt.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours an opaque pitch black with only a thin light brown film for a head. Nose has sweet, intense sweet roast, with some coconut and subtle Bourbon. Rich body, low in carbonation, sweet vanilla roast, with the Bourbon becoming more prominent. Warming alcohol finish. Delicious! 041219

Tap at Warpigs, Copenhagen, Denmark, as Bourbon BA 12 months, at 9.6%. Pours black with limited brow foam. Aroma is rich of burnt caramel, toffee, vanilla, dried figs, licorice. Body is dense with moderate but tickling carbonation. Taste is equally rich and satisfying, with some oxidation, some roastiness bitter, the marked sweetness given by the Bourbon barrel. The final is long, embracing, warm, with some more sweetness.
