For this, the fifteenth entry, we selected specific barrels of an imperial stout brewed in honor of batch #1,000—a 33º American-style sweet imperial stout that spent more than 28 months in Bourbon barrels from our favorite distillery. In order to achieve heightened nuance and balance, the blend was then conditioned atop a small proportion of Ecuadorian Costa Esmeraldas cocoa nibs sourced by Dandelion Chocolate in San Francisco and organic vanilla beans from Agrofloresta de Mesoamerica in Teapa, Tabasco, Mexico.

Bottled Nov 13, 2020, drunk 12/21/22. Thick black-mahogany. Tan head immediately to ring. Hmmm, smells a bit oxidized. Prune, raisin, caramel, a bit of spicy bourbon, but not all that much. Honestly this is surprisingly oxidized. But no booze, or excessively sugary notes. Soft, sweet, syrupy, chocolatey, but none of the acidity or dryness from the nose. Very flabby and sweet. Oxidation on the finish. Hmmm, for a barrel aged beer of its size that has been barrel aged, it's oddly sweet and oxidized.

500ml bottle pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice sweet chocolate roast malts rich coffee and chocolate. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate roast malts bourbon barrel goodness.

500ml (thx, Marc-Antoine G.!) shared with George's gang @ Green Point campground beach ⛱️ . Appearance: dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: sweet, some chocolate and dark fruits, some molasses. Taste: along the same lines, quite weird, some like rusty notes. Overall: I expected much more from this, considering it is HF BBA IS anf the adjuncts added. Despite it is nicely balanced in terms of the mouthfeel, ABV, and body, I am not sure how it ended being this product that doesn't really deliver.
