Stout for breakfast? If it's laden with robust maple syrup and cold-pressed Thomas Hammer Coffee, then yes! We start with a big roasty imperial stout base and add maple syrup twice: first in the boil to add a woody maple kick, then in the fermenter to highlight traditional maple syrup flavor.

Dark brown, inky pour, no head. Toasty, little coffee, touch of maple syrup. Thick, low carbo, lots of chocolate. Mellow maple and vanilla. Rich but simple, still solid.

Tavour: pours black with beige head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. Some vanilla. Taste has some bitterness. Plenty boost. Some sweetness. Solid.

On tap. Black pour light tan head lots of coffee and bitter chocolate aroma. Kind of a dark soy sauce flavor at the end.

On tap at prefunk pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose chocolate roast malts very metallic. Taste is chocolate roast malts nuts maple and super metallic. Not good

Feb 2023 - rerating this to give it another shot. Hard to believe this is still being produced if it tasted like my first review.16oz can from Brewers Haven. Dark brown pour with a thin layer of beige head. Aroma is a balance of chocolate and coffee. Coffee leads the way in the taste, some chocolate and just a hint of maple. Coffee bitternes stays throughout. much better. Sep 2022 - Short pour at PreFunk. Black pour, thick beige head. Aroma and taste hit with a metallic clang, ruining the palate from the start. Soy sauce. Yikes! Bad batch?
