We thought, we fought, we took votes, we did blind tastings, we did sniff tests and lab tests, color tests and speed tests. After months of conversation with our friends at Ravenna & Alvarado Street, nostalgia for the bygone days of a more see-through beer has won. This year, 3-Way IPA WAS a West Coast Style IPA. But then, we compromised. We’re good partners. And now it’s a NEW ENGLAND STYLE as opaque and inscrutable as our wildest dreams.

Pint can. I’ve committed to buying at least a 4-pack of this every year.. 2022 is a solid rendition yet again. An orangish-yellow pour with thick haze and a big white head. Lots of sticky lacing. Such a delicate yet potent aroma. Sweet citrus and tropical fruit. Tastes sweet with citrus fruit and a light bit of tropical fruit mustiness. Moderately bitter, more so than expected. Clean lingering finish of citrus hoppiness.

16oz can at share. Hazy orange golden with a small but sturdy white head. Aroma is fruity, mostly tropical notes, with a few stray citrus elements here and there. Taste is full, more fruit, sweet, mild hoppy character, mango. A head above this year's regular 3-Way release.

16 oz from a case. Aroma has notes of cantaloupe, peach, pineapple, strawberry. Pours hazy sunshine golden with a two finger cream white head with excellent retention. Taste has mild bitterness with flavors like the aroma. Finishes dry. The West Coast version is slightly better.
