Four different brewhouse recipes, all hoping to stack dynamic flavor, spent time in select 10-year Eagle Rare, 8-year Elijah Craig + 4-year Bardstown barrels. This year’s blend was created & then the entire vintage was sent to a split of 10-year Russell Reserve + 8-year Wild Turkey Barrels before meeting the cellar’s hand for a unique introduction of cold-steep whole-bean washed Catuai coffee from @darkmattercoffee + 400 pounds of coconut that we toast here at Half Acre.

Brewery draught, 11/30/23. Dark. Tan head quickly to ring. Mostly malt, with the coconut and bourbon sharing space behind it. Coffee adds fruitiness and gentle acidity. Chocolate-coco-vanilla. Kinda surprisingly timid on the barrel. Rich fruit and pepper, I guess. Not boozey. Soft, malty, rich, thick, syrupy, properly attenuated, not too boozey, tons of bourbon spice, light lead, pencil, etc...adjuncts are tasteful. Lotta spice and whiskey lingering. Inevitably strong but a massively flavorful, compelling sipper. Gets a bit too dry and tannic after long warming. Some strong vapors in the nose, too.

Can thanks to BillyT. It pours darkest brown to black with a quickly dissipating head. The aroma is sweet, oily, intoxicating, toffee, fudgey, bourbon, touch of warming spice, nutty, praline, roasty, toffee crisp, dried fruits, touch of umami and liquorice. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, toasty, chewy, toothy, warming booze, big hit of bourbon, vanilla fudge, rocky road, chocolate, praline, umami and liquorice with a warming finish. Fulsome body, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel. Boozey, but works well.
