With a malt bill of nearly 40% oats and wheat, Urban Solace presents itself with huge mid-palate body, held up by slightly more bitterness than the style calls for. Leaning heavily into the experimental hop varietal HBC 1019, the beer expresses big tropical and stone fruit

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours slightly hazy gold with a smallish white head. Aroma is tropical with a touch of ripe pineapple. Med body. Juicy and lightly fruit sweet. Enough bitterness to contain the sugars. Flavor is citrus, peach, melon and possibly passion fruit. Perhaps subtly complex as to flavor. Flavor is quite pleasing.

US pint can brought back from California by Aunty Sue for AndyTF2. Shared at my house on Easter Saturday 30th March 2024. Hazed orange body, white crust. Soft fruity little number with Mango like flavours and esters to the fore, other citrusy fruits back up the mango's nicely, semi-bitter finish.

16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Hazy orange golden pour, thin, tight layer of head. Aroma starts tropical, light stone fruit, light hop bitterness. Taste turns to the stone fruit, peach, apricot, then melon. A dull dry, bitterness lingers on the palate.
