At Fort George, we recognize the boldest, zestiest, most outstanding employees with a prestigious award: The Sherman. Polishing the tap handles – that’s a Sherman. Knocking out pizzas for a surprise 40-top on a busy Saturday night – Sherman. Going the extra mile – that’s a Sherman. We’re all helping each other and working together every day but some of us operate on a whole other level of human kindness and productivity. Those people are Shermans.
Sherman IPA is our Employee of the Year Beer. Bold, zesty and tropical with a superior motivational kick.
Working hard in year round 6-packs beginning September 2023.
Hops: Ekuanot, Indie Strata, Luminosa
Malts: GW 2Row, FM Flaked Wheat
Yeast: London DF

On tap. Pours amber with moderate head. Aromas of pine, ground pepper and doughy malts. Flavors follow same with a bit of sweat. Overall pretty plain.

12 oz. can, pours a clear piss yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is fairly faint, with light metallic notes, a hint of lemon peel, and toasted grains. Flavour is pretty flat, with light lemon peel, biscuity malt, some cardboard, and toasted notes. Pretty lame hop expression, weak body, and just poorly structured. Hard to fathom why Fort George would brew this other than to be an easy-drinking nonsense IPA for the masses. At least it was only $2/can.

12oz can from Boise Co-op. Clear golden pour, active carbonation, lasting one finger foamy white head. Aroma brings a hit of lemon peel, citrus. Taste is citrus zest, tangerine, blood orange. Zippy, mild bitterness, dry.
