Proef de quadrupel van Kees! Dit bier heeft een dieproodbruine kleur en een zacht zoete smaak. De alcohol in het bier zorgt voor een warme roes. Voor dit bier hebben we gekozen voor Amerikaanse hopsoorten die zorgen voor fruitige aroma’s. Een heerlijk genietbier van om eens rustig voor te gaan zitten.

33 cl can obtained from Ingmar at Smaakhuis, well done sir. A large Straffe Hendrik tulip awaits the pour. I see a coppery red liquid completed by a ring of light tan foam replenished by a steady charge of carbonation. The nose is black raisins, grain, dark fruit and earth. The taste is good for coming out of a can. Syrup, brown sugar, dark plums, toasted bread, caramel, wood and something a bit medicinal from somewhere. A pitch down the middle of the plate for a quad.

33 cl. can @ home, bought @ Plus Culemborg. Clear dark red with a tan head. Malty caramel aroma with some fruity hops. Sweet taste with a long lasting medium bitter finish. Great quadrupel.

330 ml can. Pours a dark mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of fruity Christmas cake including stoned fruit, raisins, and oranges, plus sweet bready malts and a bit of spice. Flavors follow same but just a bit vegetal. Maybe a conflict between yeast and hops. Overall quite.

A dark brown beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has caramel, dried fruitness of prune, some breadyness. Taste has caramel, dried fruitness, balancing piney bitterness. Almost full bodied. Good beer, same nuancess as american barley wines.
