A. Le Coq cherry kvass is a combination of the best qualities of traditionally fermented kvass and cherry juice. The kvass, fermented with barley, wheat and rye malt, has a genuine bread flavour with the refreshing and slightly sourish nuance added by the juice of ripe cherries. The cherry kvass foams nicely in the glass and is the perfect thirst-quencher.

PET Bottle 1l
Dark ruby colour, no head. Rye bready aroma with touch of sweet cherries. Light to medium-bodied. Typical commericial kvass breadyness with saccarine. Now mixed with cherry juice. A bit tart notes in the finish. So not overly sweet although quite soda pop like.

Bottle (from comarket). Pours dark brown. Aroma is black bread and cherries. Flavor follows the nose, surprisingly not horribly sweet. Overall: drinkable, seems like they used the same cherry extract they use for their beers.

100cl PET bottle from Rimi, Tallinn. Pours clear dark mahogany coloured with a surprisingly decent, beige head (doesn’t last too long, but still more head than most kvass). Aroma is dominated by cherries, more the sweet, candy-like and it feels artificial. Flavour reminds me of the jelly cherries from Haribo - sweet, sugary and cherry essence. Not to much of the other usual flavours in kvass as the cherry flavour is so dominating. Not really my kind of drink, but ends up fairly drinkable and the whole 1L bottle somehow disappear. Not sure if I’m going to buy this again, thou.
