The 4th version of Boomerang Double IPA is just as expensive as the first 3 which is why they don’t do it that often. So, they've cleared out their savings account and purchased a boatload of Vic Secret, Eclipse, Riwaka and Citra (because everyone loves Citra) and put it into this big, bold, hazy Double IPA.

473ml can. Pours a cloudy gold yellow with yeast particles that sink to the bottom and a small, creamy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, orange, peach, pineapple, passionfruit, earthy yeast and herbal hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, grapefruit, apricot, pineapple, oats, earthy yeast and pine needles in a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Juicy and hoppy.

Can from Legacy LRS, Vancouver
Pale blond colour, cloudy. Nice aroma, tropical fruits, almost delicate. Soft mouthfeel, a bit starchy, little residual sweetness; the hop is more vegetable than fruity, there's light hopburn.
Not an elegant, nor a clean Hazy; it's ok.

16oz shared with Alex (thx for the beer, man!) @ home. Appearance: hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma: tropical fruits, a bit sweet. Taste: along the same lines, quite bitter in the finish, like a lot of very bitter grapefruit. Not thick enough for DIPA. Overall: just ok, too bitter for me.

Re-rate: Poured from 473mL can (leftover saved from beerplace/fiulijn tasting). Same rating, but not as bright - still decent, but -0.1 for mouthfeel. Okay. Mar 09, 2024 (7/3/8/4/16=3.8): Poured from the tap @ Superflux (Superflux lists it as 8% ABV on the menu?). Murky yellow with small white head. Lots of tropical hops, some grapefruit, quite nice.

Opaque, just a thin head. Bright papaya and apricot hop aroma. Juicy palate, a fair bit of sweetness up front, grapefruit and peach. The bitterness builds on the tongue quickly. A touch of chalk but mostly bright juiciness. I hope Superflux was taking notes because if they learned how to make IPA from S&O the way S&O learned how to make lager from Dageraad, that kind of knowledge transfer would benefit the craft beer scene here a lot.
