This unfiltered dark beer is traditionally made using only water, barley malt, hops and yeast. Here, notes of chocolate and smokiness are mixed with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Perfect for the Christmas table.

Smell of roasted malt, some tar and licorice. Not so schwarz by colour - hazy dark brown, with mid-brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, a faint of yeast and overripe fruit. Maybe a miniscule smokiness. Quite light body and somewhat watery, like many other schwarzes. Lively carbon, mildly bitter, finishes mildly sweet. Could be more robust.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Hazy dark brown. Distinct coffee aroma. Mid sweet with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Bready coffee, husky grains, notes of chocolate. Low bitterness.

Bottle (from Prisma, Vaasa). More or less black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is quite strong on the roasted notes, some bready malts as well as some mild grassy/herbal hops to it. Flavour is quite strong on the roasted notes, has some chocolate too, and mild black coffee roastiness to it. Yet it’s rather mellow. As it warms up a bit from being fridgecold the aftertaste does get some slight spicy/herbal notes to it as well. Pleasant surprise!
